Current Sponsored Organization Projects that need your help!
Placemaking in the 4th Avenue Historic Black Business District
Become a part of the change makers in this one-of-a-kind historic district in the country located in Birmingham, Alabama. Join us in creating placemaking art and landscapes.
Creation of Code Enforcement program outreach program for low-income communities and partner organization
Older communities, which are often lower-income communities, have been characterized as having housing of lesser value. It is a known fact that low income people inherit communities already in decline. Join us in developing curriculums to debunking the myths, while educating residents on how housing values are determined as a way for people to age in place, and not be displaced by flight back into municipal housing strategy areas.
Asset management archiving of photos and documents for local living legends
Calling all history buffs... Volunteer with us to document the stories that make this country a better place in the world. In our tour strategy areas, there is a need for individuals to help document the stories and archive photos with local living legends who have aged and do not have the resources.
Small Business Training and Development
Genesis History Maker CDC (GHMCDC) Tourism readiness training is designed to prepare individuals and communities for the hospitality industry. The training will cover a variety of aspects, such as customer service, cultural awareness, safety protocols, archiving, and hospitality skills. The goal is to enhance the overall readiness of a destination and small /medium tour operators to develop the business capacity to effectively attract, book, and positively engage with tourists.
